Abstract

Introduction: This study focuses on the analysis of the perception of academic culture among university students in Russia. It emphasizes the exploration of how students interpret and evaluate elements of academic culture, including the educational process, scientific research, and extracurricular activities.

Materials and Methods: A mixed-method approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, was employed. The survey was conducted with 500 students from various regions of Russia, and interviews were conducted with 20 students to gain deeper insight into their perspectives.

Results: The findings revealed that students highly value the importance of academic culture in their education. The majority of respondents emphasized the significance of academic honesty, research activities, and relationships with faculty. However, issues such as insufficient support for research activities from universities and inadequate student engagement in academic processes were also identified.

Conclusion: The study highlights the importance of academic culture in higher education and offers recommendations for its improvement, particularly in terms of enhancing research opportunities and increasing student participation in university academic life. These findings can be useful for educational institutions aiming to improve their academic environment and ensure deeper student engagement with academic culture.

Abstract

Introduction. Cyber-physical systems are increasingly becoming the targets of malicious attacks, due to the high complexity of such systems, their adaptability and work with a variety of communication interfaces. We studied the degree of knowledge of this topic and determined its relevance during the Covid-19 period.

Purpose. The main purpose of the review was to summarize, analyze and study what has already been written about the information security of cyber-physical networks. In connection with our desire to clearly explore the experience and perspectives of this group. It was decided to focus on the qualitative literature in this area and summarize the most common threats to CPS security and information security.

Materials and Methods. Using keywords, we reviewed scientific articles from the Scopus database. Studies published in English between December 2019 and December 2022 were reviewed. We found 118 articles and selected 105 of them. From selected articles, we have extracted the data necessary for our study to summarize the most common threats to CPS and information security.

Results. We analyzed scientific articles on cyber-physical information security systems and identified various methods for constructing, collecting and analyzing information and evaluated them in terms of efficiency and quality. In the course of the study, we identified 2 main thematic blocks:

1) Protection of confidential information, which includes 2 main topics:

  1. Protection of confidential information in the field of health care.
  2. The use of machine learning in information security.

2) Protection of software and firmware, which also includes 2 main topics:

  1. Server protection.
  2. Problems in vulnerability of the programmable equipment.

Conclusions. In this work, the most common sections of information security of cyber-physical systems were identified, such as: identity forgery, data forgery, etc. This study showed that during the pandemic, the development of CPS began to grow rapidly, due to the growth of cyber attacks, also in particular with the theft of modification of medical images. Thus, the pandemic has contributed to strengthening the protection of networks. This review was unable to identify the end result of the impact of the pandemic on the development of CPS, due to the fact that the pandemic is still ongoing during the period 12/31/2022, but it can be used as an aid to track the development of CPS during the Covid-19 period.
