Abstract

Introduction. The article indicates a problem related to the need to obtain an assessment of the educational environment and the organization of the educational process from the position of using the obtained educational results in labor and the absence of such an emphasis in research practice. It is emphasized that the perspective of the existing evaluations of the educational environment by students studying in universities does not give objective information about the practical orientation and demand for the results of education outside this environment. In connection with the identified problem, it is proposed to consider the possibility of using the results of such monitoring among university graduates as the basis for making management decisions to change the educational environment of a modern university.

Purpose of this article — methodical search for indicators of the university environment and evaluation of them by university graduates, to determine the problematic aspects of the organization of the educational process from the position of ensuring labor competitiveness and professional success of students.

Materials and Methods. The article presents the materials of three-year surveys among graduates of higher education institutions (N=480 (2019), 530 (2020), 610 (2021), conducted on the example of a regional university. The sampling error in relation to the possible alumni community during the university’s existence amounted to 3.96% with a confidence probability of 95%. The areas of preparation of graduates act as a quota indicator.

Results and their Implication. As indicators in the research model proposed to assess satisfaction with the results of professional training among graduates, assessment of the university’s influence on the professional qualities and competence of graduates, assessment of indicators of the educational environment, satisfaction of graduates with the process and result of employment, practical orientation and relevance of training, commitment of graduates to the university. The conducted research and retro-evaluation of graduates of the educational process and its results showed problematic moments related primarily to the organization of the student support system in employment, as well as ensuring the necessary level of practical skills and digital literacy. The difference between the evaluations of graduates and studying students established a gap between the perceptions of usefulness and the level of the educational result, actualizing the need for special attention to the opinion of graduates in the improvement and transformation of the university environment.

Abstract

Purpose. The paper presents a theoretical analysis of the problem of doctor’s communicative competence relevant to medicine and psychology in the context of compliance.

Materials and Methods. The study involved students of 1-6 courses studying in the specialties ‘Dentistry’, ‘Pediatrics’, ‘General Medicine’ and ‘Medical and preventive care’ aged 16 to 29, among them 88 boys and 625 girls. Based on the methods of ‘Research of Self-attitude’, ‘Diagnostics of Communicative Attitude’, ‘Professional communicative competence of a doctor’ test, ‘Diagnostics of Emotional Barriers in Interpersonal Communication’, ‘Diagnostics of the Level of Empathic Abilities”, “Diagnostics of Communicative Tolerance”, the authors have analyzed the characteristics of future doctors’ communicative attitudes. The obtained data were validated statistically.

Results. A review of current trends on the expediency of the transition from the paternalistic model of relations in the “doctor-patient” system to the model of cooperation was carried out. In this regard, the issue of the need to develop the communicative competence of a doctor in order to form a high level of his compliance behavior is considered. Thematic educational and methodological complexes aimed at the development of the communicative qualities of the students’ personality is proposed to be developed and implemented in medical universities.

Conclusion. The period of primary professionalization of future medical specialists should be accompanied by the development of their communicative competence. A program for the development of the efficient professional communication skills that can increase their professional achievements is required to be introduced into the educational process.

Abstract

Background. There is neither standardized definition of what a career strategy is, nor have the types of these strategies been delineated or agreed upon. In order to study the phenomenon precisely, we need to formulate a definition of career strategies.

Purpose. The objective of this field review is to summarize the literature on career strategies, analyze career strategies identified by researches, and to identify strategies that are most universal for application by different groups of the population.

Materials and Methods. A total of 1,844 articles were found in the Scopus database, 25 of which contained detailed information about career strategies and were retained in the review.

Results.Thematic synthesis of the literature brought out the most popular career strategies: mentoring, maintaining a balance between family and work, networking. The analysis shows that there is no equally useful and applicable career strategy for everyone. Each of the strategies considered in this review offers certain actions that facilitate the construction of a career in certain specialties for certain social groups. For this reason, it seems necessary to constantly monitor new research in the field in order to be aware of current approaches to the study of career strategies.

Implications. The results of the research work can be useful for those who are connected with or interested in the topic of career strategies.

Abstract

Introduction. Career guidance for schoolchildren needs constant optimization, as it largely determines the success of the initial professionalization of students and, consequently, the success of future career tracks of established professionals.

Purpose of this scoping review is to analyze publications on the career guidance system that has developed by 2023 in Russia and abroad, to analyze career guidance methods, their advantages and disadvantages.

Materials and Methods. Within the review of the subject field, 47 sources published from 2010 to 2023 were selected, dedicated to the system of career guidance in the USSR, Russia, and foreign countries. All sources are original and review articles dedicated to professional orientation in Russia and other foreign countries. The articles were extracted from the library systems Elibrary and CyberLeninka.

Results. A search was conducted for studies published in the period from 2010 to 2023. The majority of the articles are “case study” type publications, as well as theoretical and review publications. Unlike foreign countries, where issues of career guidance begin to be addressed starting from primary school, in Russia this direction is applied in nature and lacks a systematic approach. Career guidance is mainly implemented in schools (specialized classes), career guidance centers, where comprehensive activities are carried out to assist in professional self-determination. Career guidance is also implemented in labor and rest camps.

Conclusion. This review recorded various approaches in the system of career guidance work at both the national and international levels. The results obtained indicate the need for a comprehensive scientific approach to the development of measures facilitating the professional self-determination of school students. It is also necessary to take into account the shortcomings in the career guidance system for successful self-determination of school graduates.
